GoodLoan applicant authorization

Credit check consent

GoodLoan may use credit information as one part of eligibility, affordability, identity, fraud-prevention and underwriting review. This page explains the intended scope of consent.

Draft for legal and bureau review. The final authorization must match the requirements of each consumer reporting agency and the exact checks GoodLoan performs.

Authorization

By affirmatively accepting the final consent, an applicant authorizes GoodLoan Financial Inc. and its authorized service providers to request, obtain, verify and use consumer credit information from permitted sources for the purposes described in the consent.

Permitted purposes

  • Assessing eligibility and creditworthiness
  • Evaluating affordability and existing obligations
  • Confirming identity and preventing fraud
  • Verifying application information
  • Administering, servicing or collecting an approved loan where permitted
  • Meeting legal, regulatory and risk-management obligations

Soft and hard inquiries

A soft inquiry generally does not affect a credit score. A hard inquiry may appear on a credit report and may affect scoring. GoodLoan should identify the type of inquiry before obtaining consent. No statement on this website overrides the consent shown during the actual application.

Information that may be received

Credit information may include identifying information, accounts, balances, payment history, inquiries, collections, insolvency or public-record information and risk indicators provided by the reporting agency.

Disclosure and service providers

GoodLoan may disclose information to a consumer reporting agency or authorized verification provider where permitted and necessary for the stated purpose. Information should not be used for an unrelated purpose without a lawful basis or additional consent.

Accuracy and disputes

If you believe a credit report contains an error, contact the applicable consumer reporting agency using its dispute process. GoodLoan cannot guarantee that a correction will change an underwriting decision.

Withdrawal and retention

Consent may be withdrawn for future checks where permitted by contacting GoodLoan. Withdrawal does not invalidate a check already completed and may prevent GoodLoan from completing or servicing an application where credit information is reasonably required.
