ABOUT GOOD LOAN FINANCIAL INC.

About GoodLoan: a Canadian personal loan lender focused on fairer borrowing

GoodLoan is a Canadian personal loan lender building a clearer, more responsible way for eligible borrowers to access installment credit online. We combine affordability-focused assessment with transparent loan information, secure verification and respectful customer support.

Why we created GoodLoan

Many people are more financially capable than a single credit score suggests. A limited credit history, a past financial setback or a recent change in circumstances can make traditional borrowing difficult—even when someone now has stable income and the ability to manage scheduled payments.

GoodLoan Financial Inc. was created to provide eligible borrowers with another way to be assessed. Credit information may still form part of the review, but it is considered alongside relevant factors such as verified income, employment, existing obligations, regular expenses and overall repayment capacity.

Approval is never guaranteed. Responsible lending sometimes means offering less than the amount requested or declining an application when the proposed payments do not appear manageable.

Our purpose: help Canadians make informed borrowing decisions with clear costs, realistic payment schedules and no pressure to accept an offer.

Our mission as a Canadian personal loan lender

Affordability first

We consider whether the proposed payment appears manageable alongside income, expenses and existing financial obligations.

Clear borrowing costs

Approved borrowers receive the applicable rate, APR, payment schedule and total borrowing cost before deciding whether to proceed.

Respectful service

We aim to communicate clearly, answer reasonable questions and avoid misleading or high-pressure approval claims.

Personal loans designed for real-life needs

GoodLoan offers or plans to offer personal installment loans for legitimate personal and household needs, subject to product availability, verification, underwriting and applicable provincial requirements. Loan requests generally range from $100 to $20,000, although the amount offered may be different from the amount requested.

Every application requires assessment

Depending on eligibility and product availability, borrowers may consider a GoodLoan personal loan for unexpected expenses, essential vehicle or home repairs, moving costs, eligible education expenses, debt consolidation or another permitted personal purpose. The final agreement governs how loan proceeds may be used.

More than a credit score

Credit history can provide useful information, but it does not always reflect a borrower’s present situation. GoodLoan may look at a wider financial picture when assessing an application.

  • Identity and Canadian residency information
  • Verified employment and income
  • Regular housing and living expenses
  • Existing loans and other payment obligations
  • Recent banking activity and cash flow
  • The requested amount, term and payment frequency
  • Available credit information and fraud indicators

A lower credit score does not automatically mean approval or decline. Every application remains subject to eligibility, verification, affordability and GoodLoan’s underwriting requirements.

How the GoodLoan application process works

Apply online

Enter the requested amount and provide your personal, employment and financial information.

Complete verification

Confirm your identity and submit the documents or secure connections requested for review.

Affordability review

We assess eligibility, verified income, expenses, debts and repayment capacity.

Review any offer

If approved, read the full costs, payments, disclosures and agreement before deciding.

Submitting an application does not guarantee approval, funding or a particular rate. Timing depends on application completeness, verification requirements and underwriting.

Transparency before you borrow

Personal loans can be useful, but borrowing has a cost. GoodLoan wants borrowers to compare both the scheduled payment and the total amount they will repay. A longer term may reduce the size of each payment while increasing the overall interest cost.

  • No obligation to accept an offer after applying
  • No origination fee under GoodLoan’s current product design
  • No prepayment penalty under GoodLoan’s current product design
  • Loan-specific cost and payment information before acceptance
  • Returned-payment charges only where permitted and disclosed
  • Early contact encouraged when a borrower expects payment difficulty

The terms contained in an executed loan agreement and cost-of-borrowing disclosure apply to the individual loan. General website information does not override those documents.

Privacy, identity verification and security

A loan application contains sensitive personal and financial information. GoodLoan uses identity verification, access controls and secure document-handling processes designed to confirm applicant identity, reduce fraud and restrict records to authorized access.

Our values

Fairness

We assess relevant application information rather than relying on assumptions or labels.

Responsibility

We consider repayment capacity instead of simply offering the largest possible amount.

Transparency

We explain material loan costs and payment obligations before an agreement is accepted.

Privacy

We handle personal and financial information for disclosed and legitimate purposes.

Accessibility

We aim to make important borrowing information understandable and easy to find.

Support

We encourage borrowers to ask questions and contact us before a payment problem becomes larger.
